The 242 Racing season is fully underway.

With the May One Design last weekend, the last of Fleet One's Championship Series was started: the Fleet Champion Series.

The Fleet Champion Series is different this season from previously.  Instead of requiring competition in at least some of all the series, the Fleet Champion will be determined by performance in an abridged number of races in the In Bay Series along with the overall results in the Wednesday Evening Series.  

Fleet One has four championship series: In Bay, Out of Bay, Wednesday Evening, and the Fleet Champion Series.  The various series are described here if you are interested.  Current standings are accessible under Racing/Results on the left menu bar.

This coming weekend - May 12 is OPENING DAY for many clubs on the Bay and it looks like good weather will be on hand for your salute to your Club's executive.

The next Regatta is the classic ROUND SALT SPRING ISLAND RACE on May 18-20.

North Americans 2012

Calling for billets and charter boats for the M242 North Americans.

In an effort to attract as many out of town entries into the regatta on September 20-23 Richard Spooner is requesting that any billets or boats available for charter or donation please make yourself known.

In recent years all four fleets have shown great hospitality and generosity in both billeting and boat chartering/donating. The Daisy team for instance are probably the best travelled crew from all four fleets and those cheap buggers have never had to pay for a nights accommodation. They do however reciprocate and thus the Martin 242 Chakra is kept in balance.
