Mike started to get involved in keel boat racing in 2018 after returning to Vancouver from over a decade of working overseas. His only previous sailing experience was sailing Lasers recreationally as a teenager in Ontario lakes. His first boat was a Cal 20 which he raced out of KYC. He then upgraded to a C&C 25 and enjoyed Thursday night, round Bowen, Passage Island, Scramble and the RNSA races. He hasn’t raced since his daughter was born in March 2024 and is eager to get back to the weekly and specialty races and the camaraderie of being in a one design fleet.
